Hey, so I made the frittata from The Cheesy Vegan. The reason this is relevant to a pizza blog is because I topped it with the homemade mozzarella. This one didn’t harden up quite like the cheddar - no big surprise, since it uses cornstarch instead of agar - in fact, I had to scoop it out of the mold and spoon it onto the frittata, instead of chopping it like the instructions said. It didn’t really melt in the oven, either. Methinks it makes a better cheese sauce than a hard cheese. I mean, it’s as tasty as unicorn farts, and when it’s hot off the stovetop, it’s about as melty and gooey as you could want. In fact, I made the leftovers into a cheese sauce for a white pizza and it was every bit as amazing as I thought it would be. Stay tuned for the pics!

To celebrate the unofficial end of summer - and the beginning of Vegan MoFo - Shane and I made two “End of Summer” pizzas, loaded with tomatoes fresh from the garden.
On the top: the Tomato Throwdown Pizza, with the most delicious homemade red sauce you’ve ever tasted. It’s so amazing that additional toppings are just added noise.
And on the bottom: the Triple Threat Tomato Pizza. With home-grown cherry and grape tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, red sauce, and a tomato crust. (Okay, so maybe it’s a quadruple threat?) The mozzarella is Trader Joe’s brand, but be careful - not all their soy cheese are vegan!
You can find both of the recipes here.

Mom’s Morning Casserole from Vegan Brunch (page 64). YUMMY! (Though I don’t think I’d ever be awake & aware enough to make this for breakfast.)

Beer crust pizza! After I reblogged her pizzas last week, B’klynHeart was nice enough to send me the recipe - which, as it just so happens, is from King Arthur. (She replaced the pizza dough flavor with nooch and Penzey pizza spice; I used garlic, thyme, and oregano.)
Pizza #1: a vegan cheeseburger beer crust pizza, with cheddar Daiya cheese, Yves Meatless Ground Round, onions, tomatoes, black olives, and my own homemade pizza sauce!
Pizza #2 was a bit simpler, with just two toppings: mozzarella Daiya cheese and homemade marinara sauce.
The crust is a nice medium-thin (if you don’t leave it to rise a second time, anyway), crispy with just a hint of beer flavor.

Another recipe from the garden: Tomato Zucchini Bake. With mozzarella Daiya cheese AND homemade parmesan for twice the cheesy deliciousness!

It’s true, I did!
I ate that pizza. I ATE THAT PIZZA GOOD!
(Follow Your Heart mozzarella, sweet corn, carrots, black olives, and sundried tomatoes on my basic, go-to fluffy white pizza crust, with a teaspoon of garlic powder to mix things up a bit. GROOVE IS IN MY MOUTH!)

Shane: Why are you photographing that pizza? We make it all the time,* you must have a hundred pictures of it by now.
Me: I run a food blog now, I always need more pictures. I post like five times a day, I have to photograph everything! YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND THE PRESSURE!
Based on a true story. The point of which: send me your nomz!
(Especially your ice cream! I know frozen desserts are supposedly “out of season” now (pffft!), but my queue is running dangerously low and I LITERALLY CANNOT EAT ANY MORE ICE CREAM than I already do! Well, unless I switch to banana ice cream as a breakfast staple BUT THAT WOULD JUST BE SILLY, don’t you think?)
Please and thank you!
* This pizza, by the by, is mozzarella Follow Your Heart, black olives, sundried tomatoes and Lightlife Pepperoni, all on a fluffy white crust. You know, THE USUAL.
